Icahn’s first tweet shows he’s sweet on Dell; who will he follow first? – Austin Business Journal:

Activist investor and prospective +Dell  buyer  +Carl Icahn joined the Twitterverse a few hours ago with a local reference.
“Twitter is great. I like it almost as much as I like #Dell,” the billionaire wrote.
Icahn, who may be tweeting in an attempt to paint himself as a technologist worthy of owning the third-largest #computer company in the world, quickly attract 4,100 followers within about three hours. The source of the tweet has reportedly been confirmed to be #Icahn. He hasn’t started “following” anyone yet.
Icahn has been vying with an investor group led by CEO +Michael Dell  in a bid to buy out shareholders of #Round Rock-based Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL). Michael Dell’s group is offering $13.65 per share, or $24.4 billion.
Icahn thinks that’s too low, so his team of investors has proposed several offers to shareholders, including a request earlier this week to make a $14-per-share tender offer.
Shareholders are scheduled to vote on the issue July 18.
