EZCorp shares dip on underwhelming Q2 revenue numbers

EZCorp Inc. shares fell Wednesday in heavy volume as the company’s second quarter results underwhelmed investors with lower than expected revenue.
EZCorp’s shares fell to $9.80 early in the session but recovered some of those losses by Wednesday’s close. The shares finished with a loss of 65 cents, or 5.87 percent, to close at $10.43. EZCorp released its results after the close of the markets on Tuesday.

Austin company settles mismanagement lawsuit filed by former CFO

Astrotech Corp. has resolved claims of corporate mismanagement filed by its former chief financial officer.
The Austin-based company has reached a settlement of the lawsuit filed by former CFO John Porter in early 2013, according to an Astrotech news release.

Deep Eddy Cabaret gets new owners

The Deep Eddy Cabaret neighborhood bar in West Austin has been sold and is now under the ownership of father and son Robert and Will Bridges, who purchased the bar from original owners Butch and Patti Hickman for an undisclosed amount.
Will Bridges, who is a partner in Lamberts restaurant on Second Street and Arlyn Studios off South Congress Avenue, said he and his father plan to retain the bar’s existing staff and make very minimal changes to its operations. Many regard it as an Austin institution.
