British officials target Austin financial technology companies for mission trip

British officials are recruiting Austin companies in the financial technology sector for a special mission trip to the United Kingdom in December.
The UK Trade & Investment department plans to host the London trip from Dec. 5-9 in an attempt to inform such companies about the growing U.K. financial technology network, giving them the tools and connections to take such businesses global, according to a department news release.

Booming event business has Brodie Homestead owner hunting for more space

With the events business bustling in Austin, the owner of two of the city’s more distinct event spaces is in the market for more property so he can book more business.
Dan Ross, a local attorney who owns the Brodie Homestead and Allan House event facilities, said he is in talks for at least one new piece of property and is keeping an eye open for “landmark structures” that help to sell themselves as a location for weddings and corporate bookings.

Q2 Holdings Inc., a banking software maker, has bought for $20 million a Nebraska company that develops fraud detection products.
Austin-based Q2 Holdings acquired Centrix Solutions Inc., a company that provides financial institutions with software designed to detect fraud, manage risk and simplify compliance, according to a Friday news release.
