Rocket Software Inc., a Boston-area company that specializes in IBM Corp.-based networks, has opened a 35-person Austin office managed by the company’s chief technology officer.
The Massachusetts software maker opened its local operation at The Domain across the street from IBM’s Austin campus. Rocket CTO Bryan Smith, a longtime Austin resident, is leading the new office. Austin continues slide on Forbes’ ranking of ‘Best Cities for Jobs’

Austin remains the envy of most of Texas when it comes to jobs, although the picture isn’t quite as rosy as a few years ago.
The Capital City ranked No. 6 nationwide on Forbes’ 2016 “Best Cities f’or Jobs” list, down from No. 4 last year. As recently as 2012, Austin was ranked by Forbes as the country’s best city to work in.

Suburban crime tech firm adds Central Texas jobs through acquisition

Crime Tech Solutions LLC, a Leander-based company that produces software to help law enforcement catch criminals, has acquired Case Closed Software of Cleveland, Tennessee. Terms of the all-cash transaction were not disclosed.
Crime Tech Solutions, led by founder and President Douglas Wood, produces analytics and investigation software for law enforcement offices and companies. The company expects to add 12-15 tech jobs at its headquarters in the suburb north of Austin.

Court: Dell shares were undervalued by 28% in 2013 buyout

A Delaware court has ruled that Dell Inc. shares were worth nearly $4 more than what shareholders received in the 2013 buyout.
The court of chancery in the state of Delaware — widely recognized as the nation’s best forum for the determination of internal business disputes — determined the value of Dell shares was $17.62 compared with the $13.75 paid by an investor group led by CEO Michael Dell. CapRidge Partners buys West Austin office park

Austin-based CapRidge Partners purchased Lakewood on the Park, Buildings B and C, from Equity Commonwealth.
The office investment transaction was announced May 31 by Mesa West Capital LLL, a private debt fund manager and portfolio lender with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.
Mesa West provided a $32,145,000 million short term, non-recourse loan to CapRidge Partners toward the acquisition of the 180,558-square-foot office property at 7600 Capital of Texas Highway.

Predictive Analytics Comes to Mobile Ad Mediation

mobileadsAhead of the weekend, Tapjoy announced a partnership with ironSource that will combine Tapjoy’s user level segmentation and predictive analytics capabilities with ironSource’s video mediation solution.

The partnership, we’re told, is intended to help mobile app developers ensure the best possible user experience for paying and predicted future paying customers, while driving optimal revenue from their inventory designated for ad monetization.

The partnership will also allow ironSource’s developer partners to access Tapjoy’s premium brand advertisers as part of their video ad mediation waterfalls for the first time.

GSN Games, a provider of social casino games and cash tournaments, will be among the first developers to implement the combined offering.

“Today’s freemium app developers require a sophisticated, data-centric approach to monetization,” said Steve Wadsworth, Tapjoy’s CEO. “The combination of our mar-tech tools and ironSource’s video monetization platform enables developers to personalize the revenue path for each of their customers and to subsequently maximize the value of the resulting video ad inventory. Together, we help developers make more money while delivering a great user experience.”

A provided statement notes that existing Tapjoy publishers can now find Supersonic by ironSource as a mediation option through the Tapjoy dashboard. Existing ironSource publishers can now add Tapjoy to their mediation waterfall through the Supersonic by ironSource dashboard. New customers can sign up for either service at www.tapjoy.com and www.supersonic.com.

Google, Merkle Partner for New Customer Match Product

Google, if you’re not familiar, unveiled its premier set of four agency partners for the CMU product at the Google Performance Summit, which took place on May 25.
