Intel diversity report shows progress in some areas for chipmaker, shortcomings in others

Two years after Intel Corp. launched a diversity and inclusion push, the company’s latest report on the matter is a mixed bag.
While the company is progressing in its hiring practices and retention rates, the overall number of underrepresented minorities in technical jobs has remained flat since 2014 at roughly 12 percent. The percentage of women in technical positions has ticked up 2.6 percentage points to 21.6 percent.
