One Austin chef has moved on to the final round of the 2017 James Beard Awards, a high-profile honor in the culinary world.
Bryce Gilmore, executive chef and owner at Barley Swine and Odd Duck, has again been named a finalist in the competition.
Austin’s other semifinalist this year, pastry chef Laura Sawicki, didn’t make the cut among the chef and restaurants announced March 15 by the James Beard Foundation, along with finalists for its book, broadcast media, journalism and restaurant design awards.
