‘Bathroom bill’ all but clears Senate, path through House appears less certain

The Texas Senate gave initial approval Tuesday to the "bathroom bill" — a divisive issue in the 2017 legislative session that pits influential business groups against traditional political allies.
A final vote is expected Wednesday on Senate Bill 6 in the upper chamber of the Texas Legislature, although it is expected to pass without issue in the largely ceremonial move, the Austin American-Statesman reports.
