Whole Foods has lost millions of customers to grocery rivals, analyst says

Whole Foods Market Inc., the Austin-based chain of natural and organic food grocery stores, has lost millions of customers over the past year and a half, and Kroger Co. has been the biggest beneficiary.
That’s the conclusion of a new study by Barclays investment analyst Karen Short. The findings are clearly positive for Cincinnati-based Kroger (NYSE: KR), the nation’s largest operator of traditional supermarkets. But there’s a caveat for the future, too.
