Texas’ top booze regulator to step down under pressure

The head of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is leaving her post amid allegations of misusing agency money.
The TABC announced Monday that executive director Sherry Cook will retire from her position effective May 23. The commission will discuss appointing Cook’s replacement at a meeting to be held the same day.
