Making Austin More Accessible with MobilityX & car2go

Driving around Austin isn’t fun. Let’s be honest, it sucks. car2go is here to help with their innovative approach to transportation in Austin, and they’re looking for your to help improve their service!

On May 5th at the Grand Opening Party for the newly constructed 1st Floor Space of Capital Factory, car2go will kickoff the MobilityX Hackathon. The goal for the weekend’s hacking is to solve real-time driving problems by re-envisioning car accessibility in Austin. Hackers will choose from two tracks, answering one of the below questions:

How do we efficiently get vehicles to members that need them?
How do we ensure that our vehicles maintain data connectivity?

Developers and designers alike will tackle these topics and more during the two day hackathon. Add in tasty food, plus a $10,000 cash prize for first place and you’ve got a can’t miss hackathon. Startups, individuals, and teams are welcome to compete!

What is MobilityX anyway?

Capital Factory and Daimler-owned moovel North America have come together to create MobilityX — the center of gravity for innovation in mobility services and technologies. MobilityX is the first transportation technology accelerator aimed at fostering the growth of new mobility-as-a-service companies and bringing innovative solutions to the transportation sector.
