Austin comes up empty-handed at 2017 James Beard Awards

Austin was again shut out of the prestigious James Beard Awards honoring some of the nation’s best chefs and food personalities.
The city’s lone finalist in the 2017 program, Bryce Gilmore, did not come home with one of the coveted medals.
The executive chef and owner of Barley Swine and Odd Duck is a regular fixture in the James Beard Foundation’s awards program. He was nominated this year for Best Chef: Southwest.
