NAFTA 2.0: Texas-Mexico business coalition wants to work with Trump administration to revamp trade deal

Cross-border business leaders have combined forces to try to upgrade the 23-year-old NAFTA trade treaty among Texas, Canada and Mexico. They’re calling it NAFTA 2.0.
On the campaign trail, then-candidate Donald Trump called NAFTA a “horrible deal for the United States” and “the worst trade deal, maybe, ever.” No doubt Trump’s ideas were influenced by his extensive campaigning in the Rust Belt and Northeast. For Texas, though, it means 400,000 jobs and $93 billion in goods traded to Mexico.
