WeWork’s Domain location hosting at 5:30 pm — RSVP here
In an effort to connect Austin’s tech sector with their elected officials, Austin Tech Alliance is teaming up with WeWork to host Council Member Leslie Pool at a tech town hall next Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm.
Come for the civic engagement — stay for the free beer.
During our conversation with Council Member Pool, who represents District 7 in north Austin, we’ll discuss how City Council works, her priorities for the city, and how Austin’s tech community can best engage on neighborhood and policy issues.
About Council Member Pool: Before becoming the elected representative for District 7, Council Member Pool served in the Travis County Constable’s Office, was Treasurer and member of the Executive Board of Liveable City, and was a co-founder of the Bull Creek Road Coalition, an affiliation of seven neighborhoods and a stakeholder group in the sale and development of state-owned property along Bull Creek Road. In addition to her work for Travis County, Council Member Pool worked at the National Wildlife Federation, the Texas Department of Transportation, and served in the offices of Congressman Lloyd Doggett and the late U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentsen.
Austin Tech Alliance is a member-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting civic engagement in Austin’s tech sector. We focus on:
- Educating the tech grassroots on issues that impact them
- Advocating for tech-forward solutions to community challenges
- Activating the tech community to speak up, participate, and vote
