New Central Library set to deliver in bustling corner of downtown Austin

A major addition to southwest downtown finally has a finish date.
Austin’s New Central Library will host a grand opening at 10 a.m. Oct. 28 at 710 W. Cesar Chavez St. After more than four years of construction, the $125 million facility will open in a corner of the Central Business District that is humming with construction. Directly east of the site, across Shoal Creek, the 32-story Austin Proper Hotel & Residences is going up at 202 Nueces St.. And the 500 West 2nd, the future home of Google Inc.…
